Jason Kelce blasts Taylor Swift and blames her for causing the confusion that led to the Chiefs’ defeat, says she’s full of bad luck and misfortune.
It’s well-documented just how much NFL and podcast brothers Travis and Jason Kelce love each other, but the ex-Eagles center was forced to step into ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown and discuss his brother’s recent nightmare following the Chiefs’ loss to the Texans just one night earlier.
The ESPN broadcast team had asked Jason to about Kansas City after the Chiefs fell to 6-7, which is the worst version of themselves in the Patrick Mahomes era. Jason Kelce was asked what happened to the team that was once framed as a potential dynasty in the making, but which saw Travis and Patrick Mahomes experience the unthinkable in front of their home fans on Sunday Night Football.
Scott Van Pelt asked Jason what he saw and what he did not see in the Chiefs’ performance, prompting him to weigh in on one of the toughest nights of his brother’s career. It comes after tunnel footage emerged of Travis showing something unusual after Mahomes’ retirement admission.
Van Pelt asked: “Jason, I appreciate the lens you view this through. It’s emotional, I get it. But if you just look from an analytical standpoint, what did you see and not see from Kansas City last night?”.
Kelce replied: “I mean, we knew it was going to be a defensive fight. Both of these teams, the strength of them is on that side of the ball, and it felt like whoever was going to make the fewest amount of mistakes and was going to be able to maintain possession was going to be the team that came out victorious.
“The Texans did that. Between the drops and the fourth-down calls that didn’t go their way, those ended up being the deciding factor. The fourth-and-one, I actually thought, Kareem Hunt is one of the most guaranteed hand-offs. So even if you’re going to go for it, I might’ve gone to Kareem on that because he’s been so successful in those situations.”
