“It Felt Like Settling for Less” — Taylor Swift Reveals Why Marrying Travis Kelce Was About Age Pressure and Making Her Ex Jealous, Not Real Love
The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua poked fun at Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift, after the Kansas City Chiefs missed the NFL Playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Kansas City’s defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers saw them slip to 6-8 for the 2025 season, ending a decade-long playoff streak and nine straight AFC West titles; the latter likely being relinquished to the Denver Broncos.
Losses in the final weeks, combined with wins by the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars sealed their fate as it’s back to the drawing board for coach Andy Reid and the front office.
“They didn’t have Rashee Rice who’s the other receiver this year,” Nacua said via Adin Ross and N3on’s Kick livestream. “I don’t feel like they ran the ball well.
“Pacheco was their running back right. I feel like he played really good. It’s gotta be the Swift curse. They ran out of the juice.
“Remember how bad their line was?” Patrick Mahomes suffered a serious injury in Sunday’s loss, tearing his ACL and LCL, adding to the team’s challenges. Despite the playoff elimination, Kelce stressed that the Chiefs will keep competing through the final three games.
The 36-year-old tight end also emphasized that the team’s preparation and commitment under coach Reid remain unchanged.
“That’s the game for you right there,” Kelce said, via the “New Heights” podcast. “It’s just things when you need them the most just weren’t falling for us, and you gotta go back to the drawing board, man.”
Kansas City faces the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, the Broncos at home on Christmas Day, and the Las Vegas Raiders on January 4 to round out the season.
Chiefs reveal target for Patrick Mahomes
Meanwhile, the Chiefs’ medical staff provided an update on Mahomes’ rehabilitation following his ACL and LCL tears as the vice president of sports medicine Rick Burkholder estimated a long but structured recovery timeline.
The quarterback’s surgery, performed Monday in Dallas by Dr. Dan Cooper, confirmed no damage to arteries, nerves, meniscus, or joint surfaces; and early rehab will focus on reducing swelling and reactivating muscles for position-specific conditioning.
