Travis Kelce is pulling out of the Pro Bowl.

The Kansas City Chiefs star will not play in the all-star event, which is now a flag football game held in San Francisco on Feb. 3, during Super Bowl week.

Instead, the Buffalo Bills announced on Friday, Jan. 23 that tight end Dalton Kincaid will take Kelce’s place, with Bills beat reporter Jay Skurski, from the Buffalo News, reporting that Kincaid is an “injury replacement” for the Chiefs star. Kelce, 36, has been named to the Pro Bowl 11 times over his 13-year NFL career.

Neither the Chiefs tight end nor the franchise has previously announced that Kelce is suffering an injury. Meanwhile, Kincaid himself played through a significant knee injury throughout the past season, his teammate recently revealed.

“Dalton has a torn PCL he was playing through,” Bills tight end Dawson Knox shared on Bills offensive lineman Mitch Morse’s Monday Mornings with Mitch podcast last week. “Just the amount of head, shoulders, knees and toes. Eyes and ears and mouth and nose, dude. Everything. I mean, it was easier to make a list of the things that didn’t hurt on a lot of these guys.”

Kelce not appearing in the Pro Bowl could add fuel to the will-he-or-won’t-he retire rumor mill. Last week, the Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? host offered his own perspective on next season — and implied that he was excited to see a former Chiefs staffer next season.

The moment came as Travis and his brother Jason Kelce discussed the Chiefs bringing back former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy after three years away from the team.

“I can’t wait to see him back in the building, man. He’s one of my favorite coaches of all time, one of my favorite people of all time,” Travis said.
